Check out my music on Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music. I've recorded cover songs and a few originals of my own.
I wrote this song back in 2006 for my band at the time. It's about dealing with big life changes and the finding your way on the unknown path ahead. At the time, my inspiration came from how I felt about going off to college. Over the years, I've reworked the song a few times to better fit an acoustic format, and what I have ended up here is my favorite version yet.
Play on SpotifyDefinitely the most bluesy song I've ever written, I'm extremely proud of this one. I came up with the lyrics and most of the music for this song back in 2009, but it never received the full-band treatment. Lyrically, it's about the shame and regret that can come after excessive drinking. It's about the back and forth of claiming to have learned your lesson, but then continuing to make the same mistakes again and again. The somewhat depressing lyrics are uplifted by one of the coolest and most fun guitar riffs I've ever came up with. I finally put together a completed version of the song in 2023.
Play on SpotifyThis song got pieced together over the course of more than a decade. For the longest time, all that I had for it was the main guitar riff, with no lyrics or structure. Ultimately, I ended up writing a love song, despite the music not really sounding like it. This song is an ode to marriage. It's about being in it for the long haul, as a team -- working together, making decisions together, and being committed to one another.
Play on SpotifyI've played a fair amount of live shows over the years, between playing in bands and playing solo. After recording a solo album, I'm itching to get out and perform again. I'd love to play an open mic night, house party, or bar gig.
My favorite genres of music are pop punk and hard rock -- the music that really took off in the late 90s and early 2000s. I think it shows in my songwriting and in my cover song repertoire. My philosophy is that although I'm just one guy with an acoustic guitar, the last thing I want to do is go out there and sound like a typical ‘campfire’ singer/guitarist. I want to transcribe rock songs into acoustic rock. I want to put on a low-key rock show. Instead of playing something like ‘Breakfast At Tiffany's’, that you've probably heard at bars a thousand times, I'd rather bust out a hit from a band like Three Days Grace.
Here are some of the bands from whom I play cover songs:
